The Morpheus Soul Show broadcasts on www.playvybz.com live from London across the world wide web every Saturday between the hours of 17:00pm – 19:00pm GMT. The show is developed and presented by the Temporary Residents, which consist of the ‘magic triangle’ of DJ Johnny Rebel and presenters Ten Mill and The Soulful Solly Brown. Every Saturday they showcase their unique blend of soul, neo classic soul and soulful hip-hop featuring a mix of music that you cannot find on any other radio station. On air since October 2005 beginning with a three year stint at smokefm, the show was born out of the trio’s frustration at the distinct lack of airplay for some of their favourite artists. After deciding to address this, The Morpheus Soul Show has found a niche and made a positive impression on the radio scene with their mix of music and personable presenting style. The show regularly features work from artists such as Slum Village, Jazzhole, Omar, W. Ellington Felton, Skyzoo, John Robinson, Jay Electronica, Amp Fiddler, Soulstice, Erik Rico, Eric Roberson, The Justus League, 8th W1, Tanya Morgan and Spec Boogie to name a few. Proud of their English roots, the trio are never slow to big up homegrown talent as well as acts from further afield. The format for the show is simply good music highlighted in various formats. As well as the Morpheus Soul Top 5, which has become a showcase for both new artists and tracks. Other features include Back-2-Back artist of the week (2 tracks played by a featured artists) or recently introduced Back 2 Back sound clash (which features two artists in a musical face off against each other, where the listeners decide the victor) and the Connoisseurs Corner, a tip of the hat to the legendary soul and hip hop performers of yesteryear. Combined with the usual mix of competitions and gig guides it adds up to a potent but addictive mix which when combined with their unique, unscripted humour means there is never a dull moment.
